Each year more than 500 transfer students enroll at Ramapo College of New Jersey. These students enter from more than 135 colleges nationwide including 35 New Jersey colleges. Approximately 60 percent of these students enroll from two-year colleges. Ramapo also enrolls transfer students from countries all over the world.


Transfer Admissions Requirements

Application

A completed, online undergraduate Transfer Admissions Application and non-refundable $65 application fee is required. Applications submitted without payment will be considered incomplete and will not be reviewed.

Official College Transcripts from all previously attended colleges/universities

If at the time of application you are currently enrolled in college courses, you must submit your final transcript before enrolling.

Transcripts must be sent directly from your previous colleges to be counted as official. Transcripts can be sent electronically to admissions@ramapo.edu or mailed to:

Additionally, students are not required to submit AP scores for admissions purposes, however if you have completed AP credit and would like to be evaluated for transfer credit, please submit an official score report.

Transcripts from outside of the United States must be evaluated (course by course) by any current member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). SpanTran: The Evaluation Company, a NACES member, has created a custom application for RCNJ that will make sure you select the right kind of evaluation at a discounted rate. If you are a RCNJ Alumni returning for a second degree, you do not need to submit RCNJ transcripts.

Final Official High School Transcript
Your official high school transcript is only required if you have attempted less than 45 credits college.

EOF Transfer Verification Form (if applying for the EOF Program)
EOF applicants are required to submit the EOF Transfer Verification Form or an EOF transfer form from your current institution’s EOF Office to be reviewed for EOF. If you are not enrolled into the EOF Program at your current institution, contact the EOF Office at 201-684-7542 to learn about transfer options.

Standardized Testing
Ramapo is a test optional school. However if you have completed your SAT/ACT and would like to submit this to possibly be waived from placement testing, please have your official scores sent to admissions@ramapo.edu. To check placement testing requirements, see our Testing Website.

English Language Exams for International Applicants
International Transfer Applicants must demonstrate fluency in English by submitting scores from a standardized test. Ramapo College require English Language Exams or equivalent – scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), Duolingo, PTE Academic or ELS.Applicants should use the following guidelines for test results:

GPA Requirements

  • It is strongly recommended that Transfer students have at least a 2.5 cumulative grade point average at their prior college(s) when applying for admission.
  • Accelerated BSN applicants are required to have a 3.0 cumulative grade point average or above.
  • Biology applicants are required to have a 2.75 cumulative grade point average or above.

Social Work Program
New transfer students are not formally admitted to the program at the time of application. After completing all required prerequisite coursework, students will submit an internal application directly to the Social Work Department. Prerequisite coursework can be completed at Ramapo or satisfied through transfer credit.

Transfer General Education Requirement

Transfer General Education Requirements

  • Students completing an Associate of Arts (A.A) or an Associate of Science (A.S) from a New Jersey Community College will be waived from General Education Requirements once they have submitted a final official transcript with a conferred degree.
  • Students who complete an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) are not eligible for a full General Education waiver. Courses will be evaluated on an individual basis. For more information about our Transfer Credit Policy, click here.
