Spring 2020

You’ve been accepted to Ramapo College of New Jersey and are now ready to become a New Roadrunner! Your first step is to submit your Enrollment Deposit. Follow the steps in item #1 below.

The deadline to submit your deposit for the Spring semester for early decision students is your acceptance letter, but you should deposit as soon as possible as the semester is starting very soon!

1. Pay Your Enrollment Deposit

To reserve a place in the Spring class and request on-campus housing, you must submit your deposit. You may submit your deposit electronically or by postal mail.

If you wish to submit your deposit electronically, please log in to your application using the Email Address and Password that you created when you applied to Ramapo. These may be found in the acknowledgement message you received from us when you submitted your Common Application. Follow these steps: 

  1. Log in to your application https://apply.ramapo.edu/apply/status
  2. View your acceptance letter
  3. Return to your status page and click on “Reply to Offer of Admission”
  4. Choose the appropriate option
  5. Click the Submit Payment button and enter the appropriate payment information

The deposit is credited toward your charges for the Spring semester. If housing is desired, it must be requested at the same time your deposit is submitted. While your admissions deposit portion ($300) is non-refundable, the housing deposit portion ($200) is refundable if a written withdrawal request is received by the Office of Admissions by December 1, 2019. After that date your housing deposit is not refundable.

2. Activate Your Ramapo Email Account

Now that you are a Ramapo student, you will need to activate your email account and take advantage of the College’s Self Service portal.

The portal gives you access to Web Registration, paying your bill, reviewing your account, email, your personal calendar, groups (including your graduating class), course tools and more.

Activating your email account is easy. You will need your Ramapo ID (“R” number which was included in your acceptance letter) and your date of birth.  Setup

Once you have activated your email, you can log in to the College’s Self Service portal. In the “user name” box, please type in your Ramapo email address (without @ramapo.edu) and your NEW password. Login

3. Take the ACCUPLACER Placement Test or Receive an Exemption

Students admitted for Spring 2020 with SAT or ACT scores of:

  • 560 or greater in Critical Reading on the old SAT (prior to March 2016) are exempt from the Writing Placement Essay Test
  • 560 or greater in Math on the old SAT (prior to March 2016) are exempt from the Math Placement Test*

or

  • 620 or greater in Evidenced Based Reading and Writing on the new SAT (March 2016 or after) are exempt from the Writing Placement Essay Test
  • 580 or greater in Math on the new SAT (March 2016 or after) are exempt from the Math Placement Test*

or

  • 26 or greater on your ACT Composite score exempts you from both portions of the test.

*All students intending to study in a major that requires Calculus, Pre-Calculus or Discrete Structures must take the College Level Math (CLM) Test before registering for courses. If you have questions or wish to schedule an appointment for testing, please visit Testing or call (201) 684-7543. All needed testing must be completed prior to attending orientation in order to register for classes.

4. Submit Your FAFSA

Please complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, our school code is 009344. Ramapo College will begin sending Financial Aid packages to students that have completed the 2019 FAFSA in November. Questions about your status may be directed to finaid@ramapo.edu. Only U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents are eligible to receive need-based aid through the FAFSA form.

5. Follow Ramapo College on Social Media

6. On-Campus Housing Information

Interest in campus housing has been unprecedented. More than 75% of new freshmen and 40% of transfer students choose to live on campus.

Important information about on-campus housing for the Spring 2020 semester will be sent out in early January to all new students who submitted their housing deposit. This information will be sent to your Ramapo email account.

7. Immunization Requirements

All new freshmen and new transfer students who will be taking classes at Ramapo College are required to complete and return the Immunization Form. Students planning to reside in college housing must also submit proof that you have received the meningitis vaccine. Failure to submit this documentation will prohibit you from living on campus after your initial semester. All new students are also required to have a tuberculosis (TB) test no more than 6 months prior to your admission to Ramapo College of New Jersey. The Immunization Form is available HERE and can be sent to Student Health Services via mail or fax – (201) 684-7534.

8. Attend an Orientation Event and Register for Classes

New students learn about the campus, its services and the curriculum during New Student Orientation. Activities are scheduled to help students begin to make friends and feel at home in a new environment.

The Center for Student Success oversees all aspects of the New Student Orientation process, working with the Advisement Center to introduce the curricular and co-curricular elements of the college experience.

A. Office of Specialized Services

Ramapo College has a strong commitment to providing equal access for all students and supports the protections available to students with disabilities under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.

To arrange classroom and testing accommodations, students with documented physical, learning or psychological disabilities must register with the Office of Specialized Services (OSS). Academic support services are also available to matriculated students.

B. Parent/Guardian Information

Please complete and submit parent/guardian information via this secure link (preferred method). Or, you may fill out and return this form with your Acceptance Card and Housing Application: Parent/Guardian Information Sheet (PDF)

10. Cost Information

For the current tuition, fees, room and board charges, visit Office of Student Accounts/Cost Info. It is easy to pay your bill online. Click here to access and log in to the Self Service Portal. You will not receive a paper bill in the mail. Questions? Call (201) 684-7495.

Effective January 1, 2015, non-resident students enrolled at Ramapo College of New Jersey who meet the criteria established by “The Tuition Equity for New Jersey DREAMers” campaign will qualify to be charged in-state tuition. All students wishing to pursue this eligibility must complete an application and affidavit as outlined in N.J. state bill, P.L. 2013, c.170 (or as amended). Newly admitted or enrolled students wishing to qualify for in-state rates must complete the New Jersey Status Affidavit for In-State Tuition Request form (DOC).

11. Attend Welcome Week Activities

Our Arching Ceremony for New Students will take place in January! More details about Arching and Move-In will be sent to you. Welcome to Ramapo College!!!!

Fall 2020

You’ve been accepted to Ramapo College of New Jersey and are now ready to become a New Roadrunner! Your first step is to submit your Enrollment Deposit. Follow the steps in item #1 below.

Classes begin on September 5, 2020. You should submit your deposit for the Fall semester as soon as possible.

1. Pay Your Enrollment Deposit

To reserve a place in the Fall class and request on-campus housing, you must submit your deposit.

To submit your deposit electronically, please log in to your application using the Email Address and Password that you created when you applied to Ramapo. It may be found on the acknowledgement message you received from us when you submitted your Common Application. Follow these steps: https://apply.ramapo.edu/apply/

The deposit is credited toward your charges for the Fall semester. Please submit your deposit of $800, if you will be living on campus; or $600, if you will be commuting. 

If housing is desired, it must be requested at the same time your deposit is submitted. While your admissions deposit portion ($600) is non-refundable, the housing deposit portion ($200) is refundable if a written withdrawal request is received by the Office of Admissions by May 1, 2020. After that date, your housing deposit is not refundable.
