Founders' Day Celebrates Ramapo College's 50th Birthday

The Adrian Project: Criminal Investigation Exercise/Drill with the IRS
On October 25, 2019, Ramapo College partnered with the Criminal Investigative Unit of the Internal Revenue Service to stage a mock criminal investigation. Led by a team of IRS Special Agents, 22 students were sworn in and divided into four teams to investigate a financial crime. The students were provided information about the crime, financial documents related that lead to four unique persons of interest and an opportunity to surveil the person of interest and collect evidence. This activity ended with witness interrogation and an arrest, under the supervision of the assigned special agent. In addition, students were given a one hour defensive tactics training, in which students learned to handle weapons, take down and handcuff suspects.
Oktoberfest’s Run with Color Rains Success
On October 20, 2019, SGA hosted the 6th Annual Run with Color. The 5K run enabled participants to run around campus to various color stations to get showered with different colored powders. This fundraiser raised proceeds to support the Ramapo College Annual Fund, which supports student scholarships. This event closed off another successful fall Oktoberfest weekend of fun.
Celebrating the Third Annual Pridefest with the Women’s Center
On October 16, 2019, the Women’s Center hosted Ramapo College’s third annual Pridefest. Allies of the Ramapo College LGBTQ+ community joined in on the fun and met with on-campus and off-campus partners whose services are LGBTQ+ focused and/or LGBTQ+ friendly.

RCNJ Theater’s “Antigone” Runs until November 23, 2019
From November 15-23, 2019 the RCNJ Theater Program will be performing the Greek Tragedy, Antigone, in the Sharp theater from 8-10 pm. Antigone was written by Sophocles, translated by Anne Carson, and is directed here at RCNJ by Julia Sears. A description of the performance is as follows: The country has a new leader. A civil war has nearly destroyed the land. Scandal after scandal has shaken the people's faith in their government. Amidst it all, one woman stands in her faith of what is right, fighting against stoic power to honor humanity and dignity. Spooky Stories with Doctor Chuck Stead
On October 30, 2019, Ramapo students celebrated the Halloween season with renowned storyteller and Dr. Chuck Stead. Dr. Stead retold ghost stories and read excerpts from his book, Back Porch Stories.
