Admission Requirements for the Accelerated Bachelors of Science in Nursing (ABSN) Program

To be considered for admission to the 16-month accelerated nursing program, applicants must hold a non-nursing bachelor’s degree or have a minimum of 60 credits from a regionally accredited institution. Prospective students must also have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA in all undergraduate coursework. Prior to enrollment, applicants must also receive a score of proficiency on the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) to be considered for the program.

Prospective students can apply to the accelerated 16-month degree provided they have completed the following courses before starting the program: Anatomy and Physiology I and II w/Lab, Microbiology w/Lab, Gen. Chemistry I and Gen. Chemistry II w/Lab or Organic Chemistry I w/Lab or Principles of Chemistry w/Lab, Statistics, and Psychology (In-person labs will only be accepted. Students must have completed coursework in the last five years and obtained a grade of C+ or higher)

The 16-month program is designed to be completed in four consecutive semesters of full-time study and begins during the summer semester.  By the end of the accelerated program, students will be prepared to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) to obtain licensure.

Admission Requirements for the BRIDGE to Accelerated Bachelors of Science in Nursing (B-ABSN) Program

A 24-month program option is offered for prospective students who meet the admissions requirements but have not completed the prerequisite courses before transitioning to the accelerated program. Applicants who choose the alternate pathway must complete the following required courses before starting the accelerated program: Anatomy and Physiology I and II w/Lab, Microbiology w/Lab, Principles of Chemistry w/Lab, Statistics, and Psychology.  Prospective students must complete the courses at Ramapo College and obtain a grade of C+ or higher.

Pre-requisites must be completed between Summer/Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 for eligibility to start the 16 month ABSN program in Summer 2025. All academic polices and Nursing handbook policies apply during pre-requisite completion.
