Important Arrival Details
  • All students must enter campus through the South Entrance. Please note that the Main Entrance will be closed for move-in traffic.
  • Adherence to Scheduled Appointment Times Students will not be permitted to check into their housing assignment before their designated appointment time. Please plan accordingly.

New Student Check In Procedures
  • Check-in for all incoming new students (1st Year and Transfer Students) will be on Sunday, August 24, 2025 at the Bill Bradley Center. Check-in will be by appointment time ONLY. Appointment times are pre-determined based on the assigned residence hall and room number. Appointment times cannot be changed. Arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before your appointment time.
  • Students will park in designated parking areas in the Main Parking lots (see signage throughout campus). After parking in your designated parking area, residents will proceed to the Bill Bradley Center where check-in will occur. At check-in, residents will receive their Ramapo College ID card which acts as their access card to their Residence Hall, their specific room, as well as the dining facilities. Students will also receive via email, a confidential information slip that includes their mailbox number and combination.
  • The Office of Residence Life is unable to accommodate requests to check-in prior to Sunday, August 24, 2025. Students who are unable to check-in during the designated check-in day, may check-in any day after. However, these students must notify their hall/area office via email of their anticipated date of arrival. The College asks for students’ and parents’/guardians’ cooperation in allowing the Office of Residence Life time to focus on all the activities associated with opening the residence halls for the upcoming semester.
  • After checking in at the Bradley Center, students will be directed to the unloading areas. Once at the unloading area, one person must remain with the vehicle at all times. Student Volunteers will be available to help unload items into orange bins provided by the Office of Residence Life and transport them to your room. After the vehicle is unloaded, the student and their belongings can proceed to their assigned residence hall room. The vehicle must then exit the unloading area and return to the main parking lots for the remainder of the day. Please note: If you are moving in outside of your designated check-in window, orange bins and volunteer assistance will not be available and students are encouraged to bring their own moving equipment (e.g., dollies, hand trucks) to help expedite the process.
  • Shuttles will be made available on a first come first serve basis.

Parking Information
  • ALL CARS WILL BE REQUIRED TO ENTER CAMPUS THROUGH THE SOUTH ENTRANCE.
  • Residents and their families will be directed toward the appropriate parking lot, depending on where the residents Fall  housing assignment is located.
  • Residents will not be allowed to check-in prior to their appointment time. After all belongings have been removed from the vehicle, car(s) will be asked to move back to the main parking lots for the remainder of the day. After the car is parked, families and friends may meet up with their student(s).

Helpful Information
  • In the event that there is an elevator malfunction, you may need to use the stairwells. We suggest that you bring your belongings packed in ways that easily allow you to transport them utilizing the staircases.
  • Residents are encouraged to bring their own moving materials in order to speed up the process.
  • Be prepared for any possible weather conditions. Check-in occurs rain or shine. Dress for the day is casual. If rain is expected, be sure to bring a tarp or large, plastic garbage bags to shield your belongings.
  • ALL CAMPUS DINING FACILITIES will be closed until dinner service for students. Dinner will be served at 7:00 PM in the Birch Tree Inn for students only. Please plan accordingly.
  • DUNKIN will be OPEN from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Dunkin is located on the 1st floor of the Adler Center.
  • Ramapo College is excited to bring back the Welcome BBQ and Carnival from 12:00 PM to 4:30 PM on the Bandshell Lawn. Please visit the Welcome Week website for more information.
