Ramapo College Statement Prohibiting Sexual Harassment

Ramapo College Statement Prohibiting Sexual Harassment

Ramapo College has a strong commitment to maintaining an atmosphere free of all forms of discrimination, including sexual harassment.  In an effort to establish an environment in which the dignity and worth of all members of the College community are respected, sexual harassment of students and employees at Ramapo College is unacceptable conduct and will not be tolerated.

Sexual harassment is defined as unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, or other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature when:

  • Submission to such conduct is made explicitly or implicitly a term or condition of an individual’s employment or status in a course, participation in a program, activity or living situation;
  • Submission to or rejection of such conduct is used as a basis for evaluating academic, employment or living conditions affecting an individual; or
  • Such conduct has the purpose or effect of unreasonably interfering with an individual’s work or educational performance, or of creating an intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment for work, learning or living.

Complaints should be directed to the Office of Affirmative Action and Workplace Compliance.
