Canvas enables instructors to align student learning outcomes, rubrics, and assignments in a simple and effective way. This workshop focuses on creating outcomes, managing rubrics, and connecting both of these things to assignments. Participants will view sample outcomes and explore a range of rubric options. We will all explore the Learning Mastery component of the Canvas Gradebook, which highlights student progress on each of the identified learning outcomes.

Pedagogy Connection: Canvas is now the College’s Learning Management System. This workshop guides instructors on how to align student learning outcomes with rubrics and assignments in Canvas. This linkage is a tenet of successful course design by working “backwards” from the student learning outcomes to the assignments and related feedback.
