WOMEN ENTREPRENEURSHIP WEEK 2021

November 15 – 22  

 

Welcome to Women’s Entrepreneurship Week  (WEW) 2021, a series of events designed to nurture, inspire, and energize female leaders and entrepreneurs around the globe. Practiced in over 32 countries across 242 universities, we are excited to bring this event to Ramapo for its 4th year! Several women entrepreneurs and business leaders will share their business experience with the Ramapo College community throughout the week in addition to there being a Women Entrepreneur Discussion Panel on Monday,  November 15th. 

This event is sponsored by Ramapo College Enactus, an international organization in over 30 countries that focuses on applying leadership and business practices to ongoing social issues through working towards the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals.   In hosting WEW our Enactus Team hopes to support Sustainable Development Goals 4 and 5:  Quality Education and Gender Equality.

Monday, November 15

Women Entrepreneur Round-Table

3:45pm to 5:00pm, PAVILION 3

Join us for our 4th Annual Round-Table and Discussion Panel. Each year several women entrepreneurs from New Jersey visit Ramapo College to share their experience as business owners and help to increase visibility of women in business and entrepreneurship.  Most importantly these women inspire, motivate, and support aspiring business people.  Students, faculty, and staff from all majors are all welcome to attend this event.  Appetizers and refreshments will be served courtesy of Ramapo College Enactus.  Click here for the flyer:  Women Entrepreneur Round Table to see more information about our guest entrepreneurs.  

                        

 


Tuesday, November 16

Design Sprint 

10:00am to 11:30am, PAVILION 3

Come and flex your creativity muscles at this introductory workshop on prototyping and invention design.  Learn how Design Thinking is used across many fields to solve problems both big and small.  Students from every major are welcome to participate and no prior experience is necessary.   Prizes will be awarded to the most creative designs!  Refreshments will be provided courtesy of Ramapo College Enactus.

 

 

Re-Upcyle Art Showcase

6:00pm to 7:30pm  ASB 2nd Floor Lounge

The Re-Upcycle Art Showcase features the artwork of Ramapo College students in an effort to create awareness for recycling and upcycling materials why encouraging individual artistic expression.  Come vote for your favorite artwork and meet the artists.  A Grand Prize of $200 will be awarded to the artist with the most votes!!!  This event is sponsored by Ramapo College Enactus, a student group promoting ENTrepreneurial ACTion that creates a better world for US all!

“My LinkedIn Success Story”

1:00pm to 2:30pm, ASB 527, Trading Laboratory

Need to get a jump on completing your Career Pathways requirements?  Need a headshot for your profile? Looking for some pointers to update your LinkedIn profile as you search for internships and employment?  Join the Cahill Career Center and Ramapo College Alumnus, Riana Katz ’19 (Marketing), as they share what it takes to be successful on LinkedIn.  The college photographer will be present to take professional headshots to be used for students’ LinkedIn profiles.   

Riana Katz - Bio

Riana Katz is a digital marketer in the B2B SaaS space.  She graduated from Ramapo College in 2019 with a degree in Business Administration: Marketing and a minor in Women and Gender Studies.  Riana started her marketing journey in the corporate communications world including blogging, social, and influencer marketing.  She swiftly transitioned into a more technical role doing marketing automation, technology, and analytics.  In her current role, she partners with stakeholders to identify, engage, accelerate, and analyze the customer journey. In addition to her day-to-day, Riana is incredibly passionate about empowering women in business and technology. She is heavily involved in several female-focused organizations and is currently employed as a Marketing Operations Analyst at Conductor in NYC.

Fashion with Phillips

7:00pm to 8:00pm on Webex

Join us for guest speaker, Christine Phillips, an accomplished designer with a charismatic personality and a fresh design approach that makes her quality fashions treasured by her clientele. Crissy is known as a perfectionist in research and development, extensively researching trims, beads, and materials for her creations. She develops dyes and textures to solidify her design esthetic, which is best described as timeless, classic beauty with a flirty edge.   This event is sponsored by Ramapo College Enactus and the RCNJ Fashion Club.  Registration for this virtual event is required.
