Disability Awareness Lecture

March is Disability Awareness month.  On Tuesday,  March 5, POER will host a Disability Awareness lecture at noon in SC 157.  In this lecture, David Nast, Director  of Specialized Services, will provide an overview of disability laws, emerging issues, disability etiquette and campus resources.  Please register below:

NJ Well

A representative from Horizon BCBS will be on campus on  Wednesday, March 13 from 10-1 in SC 156, to teach employees how to earn a gift card valued up to $350 by participating in the NJ Well Program.  This is available to members of the State Health Benefit Program.  The cycle to earn points runs from November 1, 2023 and October 31, 2024.  Registration is not required.

Volunteer Opportunities

Are you looking for an opportunity to give back to the community?  A representative from Bergen Volunteers will be on campus to  discuss volunteer opportunities on Tuesday March 12 at noon  in SC 157.  Bergen Volunteers’ mission is to provide human services and training programs to improve lives and strengthen communities. They leverage the power of community volunteers to fill gaps in the community and focus on services that empower individuals to improve their selves and their environments. They do this through their  senior, youth, and family support programs and services. There are several opportunities to volunteer and/or grow professionally, such as mentoring, doing minor home repairs, joining their LEADS program, or signing up for a necessities drive.
