Work Schedule Options for December 2023
In addition, we continue to think of innovative ways to support wellness and create ways for you to spend time with family and friends especially during this upcoming holiday season. To this end, this year as an alternative to using your leave time to cover the 28 hours of time between December 26-December 29, 2023 we are offering the opportunity to work a flexible schedule from Monday, November 27, 2023 through Friday, December 22, 2023. Here are the suggested start and end times for working this schedule:
Option 1: 8:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday (30 minute lunch Mon-Thurs with 1 hour lunch on Friday)
Option 2: 8:15am-5:15pm Monday-Friday (30 minute lunch Mon-Thurs with 1 hour lunch on Friday)
Option 3: 8:30am-5:30pm Monday-Friday (30 minute lunch Mon-Thurs with 1 hour lunch on Friday)
If you want to participate in this flexible schedule, you must inform your supervisor by Wednesday, November 22, 2023. Your Supervisor will provide the listing to POER by Monday, November 27, 2023. For those of you who may have accumulated time for those days, we are extending the deadline for carryover of the 28 hours to be used by March 31, 2023. I hope that this option provides you with additional flexibility during the holiday season.
Thursday, November 23, 2023 is a State Holiday.
Friday, November 24th, the College will be closed.
Monday, December 25 is a State Holiday.
Tuesday, December 26 through Friday, December 29, 2023, most offices will be closed and the College will be operating with extremely limited services. Vacation, compensatory or personal time should be charged, unless you are participating in the alternative schedule from November 27 – December 22 and accumulating time for the week of winter break.
Vacation carryover is limited to one year of accrued time. Please review your vacation time, which is available for employees to view in web self-service https://ssba.ramapo.edu:8443/myssb/twbkwbis.P_WWWLogin

If you are in jeopardy of losing vacation time meet with your supervisor to schedule your vacation days prior to December 31, 2023 as carryover will not be extended beyond December 31, 2023.(This only applies to employees that earn time on a calendar year basis)
