The Friends of Ramapo Scholarships

The Friends of Ramapo have annually awarded scholarships to Ramapo College eligible students. Funded from annual membership fees and proceeds from Friends of Ramapo events and fundraisers, these scholarships help students reach their greatest potential.

In 1975, the Friends established its first endowment fund for student scholarships.  In 2012, the Friends of Ramapo started a second endowment, the “Scholarship for the Arts”, to specifically recognize students in the School of Contemporary Arts.  To date, the Friends of Ramapo have awarded close to 350 scholarships valued at $500,000 to Ramapo College students.

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Friends in 2023, a new endowed scholarship “Friends@50” was established. This new scholarship will honor the rich tradition of service demonstrated by the Friends of Ramapo and their work on behalf of the College by selecting a student that has actively displayed a commitment to community volunteerism.
