Faculty Assembly is open to a general college audience, including administrators, but only FA members may vote. Faculty, including library faculty and all full-time employees contractually obligated to teach are FA members as defined by our bylaws.

Agenda:

Closed Session: Meeting opened with a short closed session for voting members on “Reflections on the State of the Faculty”. Administrators and non-voting members invited to join the meeting at 1:30.

FA Voting/Elections: (76 eligible voters)

  • FA Bylaws Revisions: GECCo Membership, FAEC/ARC/WAC Membership
    Revised memberships for all four committees successfully passed. Vote tallies are as follows.

    • FAEC – 56 Approve, 2 Do Not Approve, 6 Abstain
    • ARC – 55 Approve, 1 Do Not Approve, 8 Abstain
    • GECCo – 54 Approve, 3 Do Not Approve, 7 Abstain
    • WAC – 54 Approve, 3 Do Not Approve, 7 Abstain
  • Faculty Handbook Revisions: (Sections 5.0, 8.0, 9.0 and 11.0)
    Revised Sections, Revised Sections with Track Changes

    • Sabbatical Policy – Passed by a vote of 54 Approve, 0 Do Not Approve, 6 Abstain
    • External Letters for Promotion/Tenure – Failed by a vote of 32 Approve, 18 Do Not Approve, 10 Abstain (Affirmative vote by a majority of eligible voters required per FA Bylaws.)
  • FA Secretary Election
    Zachary Peck (AHE) elected to serve a 2-year term in this position
