The World of Law: Law and Society Speaker Series

The Law and Society program organizes and co-sponsors speaker events for the campus community on a regular basis. Over the past ten years we have organized or co-sponsored over 90 events, received multiple Platinum awards, a Schomburg award, and a campus service award. Some recent events are included below.

Prominent speakers in the past have included Reed Brody (human rights activist also known as the “Dictator Hunter”), Mark Denbeaux (attorney and law professor with expertise on the Guantanamo Bay detention camp and its operations), Sandy Santana (Children’s Rights), Irena Grudzinska Gross (Princeton University), attorneys from the Bronx Defenders office, Her Excellency Ambassador Thilmeeza Hussain (Permanent Representative of the Maldives to the United Nations).
