FAEC MINUTES 02/23/22

Present: Naseem Choudhury (President, SSHS), Bonnie Blake (Adjunct Councilor, CA), Katie Cohen (Library), Donna Flynn (Councilor-at-Large under 11, TAS), Ken McMurdy (TAS), Lisa Lutter, (CA), Thierry Rakotobe-Joel (ASB), Mihaela Serban (SSHS), Ed Shannon (Vice President, HGS), Jeffrey Ellsworth (Secretary)

Vote to bring meeting to order at 10:05am.

Minutes Approval: The 02/16/22 minutes were approved.

FA PRESIDENT’S REPORT:

Taskforce on Course Delivery Modes: in April there will be reports at the FA meeting. There will be voting items regarding whether FA endorses Taskforce recommendations.

Transportation Survey: Survey is still out and open.

Parking Issue: Has been resolved.

Faculty Forum: March 2 FA Meeting will include a Faculty Forum afterward: Rebuilding Community in a Time of Transition.

FAEC DISCUSSION:

FAEC Reps starting Fall 2022: ASB – Malavika Sundararajan; CA – (Lisa Lutter – Fall 2022; Marc Gidal – Spring 2023); HGS – Ed Shannon; Library – Katie Cohen; SSHS – John McTighe; TAS – Amruth Kumar; Councilor-at-Large under 11 – (unfilled); Adjunct Councilor – (unfilled).

New Business:

Discussion of Faculty Resource Network and changes to funding.

Martha Ecker (AFT): Discussion of potential “voluntary separation” agreements and suggestion of a phased retirement program.

Virginia Galdieri and Janet Faber (Human Resources): Discussion of faculty handbook revisions and potential timeline to draft completion. Discussion of introduction of proposed faculty handbook changes to FA for potential endorsement. Discussion of potential separation agreements.
