RCNJ Theater Presents: Sanctuary City

Location: Adler Theater

In post-9/11 Newark, two teenagers who were brought to America as children become one another’s sanctuaries from harsh circumstances. When G becomes naturalized, she and B hatch a plan to marry so that he may legally remain in the country and pursue the future he imagines for his life. But as time hurtles on and complications mount, the young friends find that this act challenges and fractures the closest relationship either has ever had.

Sanctuary City is presented through special arrangement with TRW.

RCNJ Theater Presents: As You Like It

Location: Sharp Theater

Disguise, deception, desire are front and center in this comic tale of love and language. Banished to the enchanted Forest of Arden, the witty and courageous Rosalind disguises herself as a man to navigate a world of romantic role-playing and unexpected love. This pastoral comedy turns the tables on tradition, using clever banter and charming deception to explore gender, identity, and the foolishness of love. This production is part of Play On Shakespeare, which commissions new translations and supports productions of “The Bard” in language accessible to modern audiences while never losing the beauty of Shakespeare’s verse.
