Mission Statement:

The Salameno Center for British Studies (SCBS) was created in January 2012 thanks to a generous gift from Lawrence and Theresa Salameno. Our mission is to further the study of all aspects of British culture, support student and faculty engagement in this study, and foster student-faculty interaction. Towards this end we look to sponsor public lectures, research, and a wide array of scholarly, cultural, and educational activities to engage the Ramapo and wider communities. Our approach is interdisciplinary, and our understanding of “British” is broad both chronologically and geographically, encompassing the British Isles, the colonial legacy of the British Empire, and British interaction with the world.
