Fall 2026 New Student Experience

Welcome to Ramapo College!  We are excited to have you a part of the Ramapo College community.  We have created a great experience for you and are confident that it will help you acclimate to life at Ramapo.  New Student Experience is a multi-step process for all new students. Find your student type below to see each step in the process.

Fall 2026

First-Year Students

A full outline and detailed instructions for each of the steps below can be found in your Admissions Portal.  An outline of the steps are listed below:

  • Step 1: Activate Your Ramapo College Email Address
  • Step 2: Complete Placement Testing by June 5th
    • Please note, for transfer credit, AP scores and/or SAT/ACT scores to exempt you from testing, you must officially send transcripts/score reports to admissions@ramapo.edu.
  • Step 3: Complete First-Year Advisement Survey by June 5th
  • Step 4: Complete Virtual New Student Module by June 20th
    • Please note: after May 1, access will be granted 24-48 business hours after your deposit has been processed by Admissions.
  • Step 5: Register for In-Person Orientation by June 20th 
    • In-Person Orientation is an all day event.
    • Students and families can select one of the following dates:
      • June 23
      • June 24
      • June 25
      • June 30
      • July 1
      • July 2
      • July 14
      • July 15
      • July 22
      • July 23
    • EOF Student MUST attend In-Person Orientation prior to the start of the summer program
      • June 23
      • June 24
      • June 25
      • June 30
      • July 1
      • July 2
    • Please note, your Virtual New Student Module must be completed before you attend.
  • Step 6: Submit Immunization Information by June 15th
  • Step 7: Complete On-Campus Housing Information PORTAL OPENS June 1st
  • Save the Date:
    • Legacies in the Making August 20–22, 2026 – Designed for first-generation students, this experience offers an early start to building connections, confidence, and community before the semester begins.
    • Commuter BBQ to be held on August 11, 2026!  This is a great chance to meet other new students joining Ramapo this fall!  An email will be sent with more details soon! (Rain date: August 12, 2026)
    • Welcome Week starting with New Student Move In and Check In on Sunday, August 23, 2026
Transfer Students

A full outline and detailed instructions for each of the steps below can be found in your Admissions Portal.  Log in to your portal to confirm your status on each of the steps listed below:

  • Step 1: Activate Your Ramapo College Email Address
  • Step 2: Complete Virtual New Student Module ASAP
    • Please note: after May 1, access will be granted 24-48 business hours after your deposit has been processed by Admissions
  • Step 3: Register for Transfer Advisement ASAP 
    • Please note, your Virtual New Student Module must be completed before you attend.
  • Step 4: Submit Immunization Information by June 15th
  • Step 5: Complete On-Campus Housing Information PORTAL OPENS June 1st
  • Save the Date:

  • Accelerated Nursing Students contact Daniel Waffenfeld at dwaffenf@ramapo.edu to set up an appointment for orientation and advising.
  • RN to BSN Students contact Lisa Potenza at lpotenza@ramapo.edu to set up an appointment for orientation and advising.
  • TA to Teacher Students contact Julie Norflus-Good at jgood@ramapo.edu to set up an appointment for orientation and advising.
  • Returning Students (previously studied at Ramapo) Beginning in May, log in to your admissions portal for your New Student Experience steps including links to complete your virtual orientation module and academic advisement.
  • Degree Completion Program (DCP) Students contact Trish Laprey at plaprey@ramapo.edu for more information about your orientation program.
  • Passaic 2+2 and 3+1 Students contact Nora McCarthy at nmccart1@ramapo.edu for more information about your orientation program.
  • Sussex 3+1 Students contact Nora McCarthy at nmccart1@ramapo.edu for more information about your orientation program.
