Fall 2025 New Student Experience

Welcome to Ramapo College!  We are excited to have you a part of the Ramapo College community.  We have created a great experience for you and are confident that it will help you acclimate to life at Ramapo.  New Student Experience is a multi-step process for all new students. Find your student type below to see each step in the process.

Fall 2025

First-Year Students

A full outline and detailed instructions for each of the steps below are outlined in your Admissions Portal.  Log in to your portal to confirm your status on each of the steps listed below:

  • Step 1: Activate Your Ramapo College Email Address
  • Step 2: Complete Placement Testing (if applicable)
    • Please note, for transfer credit, AP scores and/or SAT/ACT scores to exempt you from testing, you must officially send transcripts/score reports to admissions@ramapo.edu.
  • Step 3: Complete First-Year Advisement Survey
  • Step 4: Complete Virtual New Student Module
    • Please note: access will be granted 24-48 business hours after your deposit has been processed by Admissions.
  • Step 5: Register for In Person Orientation and Advisement (link is available in your Admissions Portal)
    • This one day session will run from 9am-4pm.  Students are invited to bring up to 2 guests with them, a separate Family schedule is planned for any guests.  Be sure to complete step 2 prior to attending orientation! The following dates will be available: June 24, June 25, June 26, July 8, July 9, July 10, July 15, July 16, July 23.
    • Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) Students:
      • Must select an orientation date prior to the start of the summer EOF program (June 24, 25 or 26).
      • At the conclusion of your In Person Orientation and Advisement Session, the EOF program invites you to wrap up your day with the EOF Summer Studies Institute Orientation. Scholars and their families will gain insight into summer expectations, explore the program agenda, meet the EOF staff, and more!  This program will end at 5pm.
  • Step 6: Submit Immunization Information
  • Step 7: Complete On-Campus Housing Information (if applicable)
    • Students who did not complete the housing portal on time or are accepted to the college and deposit after the housing portal has closed (June 13th) will not have access to the housing portal.  These students will be emailed individually by the Office of Residence Life and will be provided with further details pertaining to housing.

  • Save the Date: Welcome Week starting with New Student Move In and Check In on Sunday, August 24, 2025
Transfer Students

A full outline and detailed instructions for each of the steps below are outlined in your Admissions Portal.  Log in to your portal to confirm your status on each of the steps listed below:

  • Step 1: Activate Your Ramapo College Email Address
  • Step 2: Complete Virtual New Student Module
    • Please note, after May 1, access will be granted 24-48 business hours after your deposit has been processed by Admissions
  • Step 3: Register for Transfer Advisement (link is available in your Admissions Portal) 
    • Please note, your Virtual New Student Module must be completed before you attend.
  • Step 4: Submit Immunization Information
  • Step 5: Complete On-Campus Housing Information (if applicable)
    • Students who did not complete the housing portal on time or are accepted to the college and deposit after the housing portal has closed (June 13th) will not have access to the housing portal.  These students will be emailed individually by the Office of Residence Life and will be provided with further details pertaining to housing.

  • Save the Date:
    • Commuter and Transfer BBQ on August 12, 2025 (rain date: August 13, 2025)
    • Welcome Week starting with New Student Move In and Check In on Sunday, August 24, 2025

  • Accelerated Nursing Students contact Jaelene Palao at palao1j@ramapo.edu to set up an appointment for orientation and advising.
  • RN to BSN Students contact Lisa Potenza at lpotenza@ramapo.edu to set up an appointment for orientation and advising.
  • TA to Teacher Students contact Julie Norflus-Good at jgood@ramapo.edu to set up an appointment for orientation and advising.
  • Returning Students (previously studied at Ramapo) Beginning in May, log in to your admissions portal for your New Student Experience steps including links to complete your virtual orientation module and academic advisement.
  • Degree Completion Program (DCP) Students contact Trish Laprey at plaprey@ramapo.edu for more information about your orientation program.
  • Passaic 2+2 and 3+1 Students contact Nora McCarthy at nmccart1@ramapo.edu for more information about your orientation program.
