Dr. Megan Williams earned her MA and PhD in American Studies and a Graduate Certificate in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from the University of Kansas. To her position as Coordinator of Ramapo’s Women’s Center & LGBTQ+ Services, Megan brings eight years of experience with the Emily Taylor Center for Women & Gender Equity as well as over a decade of undergraduate teaching experience in the fields of Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies; American Studies; and Sociology. She has published a number of academic book reviews, journal articles, and scholarly essays that explore issues of gender, race, sexuality, and class. Megan is committed to fostering feminist consciousness raising as well as community building practices rooted in vulnerability, authenticity, and love. She is passionate about sharing music and teaching zine making as ways of encouraging self-expression, practicing feminism, and creating community.
Allison (she/her & they/them) is our Masters of Social Work Intern. They have a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Visual Arts from Ramapo College. Allison is a committed activist who loves helping and uplifting those who want her support. They are passionate about practicing activism and self-exploration through art, music, and creativity.
Brooke (she/her) is our Student Coordinator of Intersectional Wellness Initiatives. She develops programs and collaborations focused on self-care, body acceptance, disability justice, reproductive justice, mental health, and holistic well-being. Brooke facilitates Crystal Queer Tarot, an ongoing program exploring tarot as a wellness ritual — a creative, mindfulness practice and tool for fostering self-discovery, self-care, and community building. A junior majoring in Psychology and minoring in Women, Gender & Sexuality Studies and Philosophy, she is also a Violence Intervention Peer (VIP) with the Office of Violence Prevention and a Wellness Is Now (WIN) Peer Educator with Health Promotion.
Ty (he/him & they/them) is our Student Coordinator of Queer and Trans Outreach. He leads community-building, peer support, and educational programming centering queer and trans (QT+) students. In this role, they are looking forward to meeting new people, planning fun events, as well as better ensuring safety and support for the QT+ community at Ramapo College. Ty is also our Student Coordinator of Creating Community Programs. In this position, they develop and facilitate hands-on crafting and zine-making initiatives like Crafting Community and Zines & Za that affirm creativity as a feminist practice of self-expression, care, and community creation. He is a sophomore majoring in Management and minoring in Music.
