Timeline
- TATE Application Deadline for the Fall 2025 start term – July 1st
- Admissions decisions with scholarship awards will be sent out in early August
Admissions and Scholarship Requirements
All applications received by the July 1st deadline will be considered for the scholarship. There is no additional scholarship application. Scholarship amounts will range and will be awarded after a holistic review of all applicants.
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must have a High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED) equivalency, or international equivalency
- Must have a minimum of 64 college/university transferable credits earned from an accredited college or university
- Must have earned a 2.75 college/university GPA or above
- Must have completed NJ Fingerprinting and NJ Background Check
- Must be currently employed as a Teaching Assistant in a NJ school district
To be considered for the scholarship, students must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid FAFSA by July 1st.

Application and Supporting Documentation
Applicants must submit the following Application and supporting documentation:
Online Undergraduate Transfer Student Admissions Application
- Online Admissions application – https://www.ramapo.edu/admissions/apply/
- There is a $65 application fee
- Select Fall 2025 as the entry term
- Select ‘Elementary Education – Concentration TATE’ as the academic
Official High School transcripts, official GED transcripts, or international equivalency
- This documentation requirement is optional but MUST be submitted if you wish to be considered for the scholarship
High School Transcripts must be sent directly from your school to be counted as official.
- Transcripts can be sent electronically to admissions@ramapo.edu or mailed to:

- Request official GED transcripts if GED was attained – https://www.ged.com/life_after_ged/
- High School transcripts from outside of the United States must be evaluated by any current member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).
Official Transcripts from ALL Previously Attended Colleges/Universities
- Transcripts must be sent directly from your previous colleges/universities to be counted as official.
- Transcripts can be sent electronically to admissions@ramapo.edu or mailed to:

- Transcripts from outside of the United States must be evaluated (course by course) by any current member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).
- If you are a current RCNJ student or a RCNJ Alumni, you do not need to submit RCNJ transcripts.
One Letter of Recommendation
- Academic or Professional Reference
- Examples of references include – Professor, Advisor, Supervisor, Colleague, etc
- Students must enter the name and contact information for their references in the ‘Recommendations’ section of the online application. RCNJ will send an automated recommendation request on the student’s behalf to the references listed in the application. References will be able to upload their recommendations directly to the application portal
