TO-DO LIST for Fall 2019 Enrollment:

Setup my E-mail/My Ramapo Account: All students must set up their My Ramapo account in order to receive specific Orientation announcements, register for classes, and access their tuition charges. Financial Aid: Students who have completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will receive their award letter by mail in early April.  Those who submitted their FAFSA later will receive information on a rolling basis.  Priority Deadline: March 1st  Contact:  (201) 684-7549 or

Submit Proof of Immunizations: Immunization forms can be downloaded here and must be mailed or faxed the Center for Health and Counseling Services by July 1st.

Residential Students: If you have submitted a deposit for Fall 2019 housing, you will receive an email in May asking to you to fill out a profile, used to assign your Fall 2019 housing. Proper attention and urgency should be given to filling out this profile promptly. Advanced Placement(AP)/International Baccalaureate (IB) Credits: Ramapo College awards transfer credits for students who successfully achieve a 4 or 5 on AP exams and/or a 5 or higher on IB-HL exams. To award credit, students must submit the official score report to the Office of Admissions prior to Fall 2019 enrollment. Sign Up for a Summer Orientation Date: All new students must attend a New Student Orientation. To sign up for a summer Orientation date please click on Registration Instructions on the left menu bar. It is imperative that, prior to attending summer Orientation, you read the information below regarding placement testing. If you are required to take placement tests, you must do so prior to your summer orientation date.

Testing and Placement: Some first-year students may require placement testing; please see below for requirements. All first year students must enroll in Critical Reading and Writing and Math in their first or second semester at Ramapo College. Therefore, if basic skills courses are required, they must be completed in the Summer and/or Fall 2019. Students may be excused from placement testing as follows:

  • 620 or greater in Evidenced Based Reading and Writing on the new SAT (March 2016 or after) are exempt from the Reading/Writing Test
  • 580 or greater in Math on the new SAT (March 2016 or after) are exempt from the Math Placement Test*

*All students intending to study in a major that requires Calculus or Pre-Calculus must take the Advanced Algebra and Functions Test

  • ACT Composite score 26 or higher exempts both English and math placement test
  • College Board AP English test score of 4 or 5 exempts English placement test
  • College Board AP Probability & Statistics test score of 4 or 5 exempts math placement tests
  • Successful transfer of college-level courses in English and math that fulfill the General Education requirements

All students who are required to take the placement test are encouraged do so between April and June.
If you are unable to test at Ramapo’s Testing Center, you may be able to take the test at a college that is more local for you. If you are interested in this option or have any questions about testing, please contact the Testing Center at (201) 684-7543.

Calculus Placement Test Students majoring in the sciences (except nursing majors) or anyone interested in taking Calculus must take the Advanced Algebra and Functions Test. The SAT or ACT Scores are not reviewed for this process. Scores of 3, 4, or 5 on the AP Calculus test or college credit for Pre-calculus are the only exemptions. To sign up for Advanced Algebra and Functions testing, go to Testing Center website.

STAMP World Language Proficiency Testing: The Standards-based Measurement of Proficiency (STAMP) test is an online test designed to assess world language proficiency in reading and writing. Students who are in the School of Humanities and Global Studies (HGS) are required to complete an intermediate-level world language course. Parking Permits for the school year 2019-2020: First-year students living on campus are permitted to have vehicles on campus. All students planning to park on campus are required to display a current and valid parking permit on their vehicle.  Parking permits are ordered through  Commuter students receive a rearview mirror hangtag to allow the registration of two vehicles on one permit, at no additional fee.  Each vehicle must be registered in the student’s permit store account.  Parking permit fees are charged to your student account with other tuition and fees. Contact:, (201) 684-7432.
