Equity and Diversity Programs has sponsored with the following clubs/organizations in the past to aid in promoting diversity. Feel free to contact them and visit their weekly meetings to check out what they are all about!

Alpha Kappa Sorority, Inc.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. is the PHirst and the PHinest organization founded by African American college trained women on January 15,1908. We pride ourselves on sisterhood, community service, and high academic scholarship. The Resounding Rho Gamma Chapter was chartered at Ramapo College on May 2, 1993 by 12 Illustrious women. 22 years later Rho Gamma continues to uphold the values of Sisterhood, Scholarship, and Service to ALL Mankind!

Association of Latinos Moving Ahead (A.L.MA.)

The Association of Latinos Moving Ahead is an academic and social Latino organization promoting personal growth among other organizations including cultural, educational, social groups at and outside Ramapo College. The organization takes primary focus on fundraising and involvement in numerous community service activities among Community. Even though, we are a Latino based organization we do not discriminate against any races. Everyone is welcome!

Beta Kappa Sigma Black and Latina Sorority, Inc.

Beta Kappa Sigma Black& Latina Sorority, INC., was founded on June 20, 2001 by 34 ladies from Ramapo College and Kean University. The founding mothers of this sorority are African-American, Latina and Caucasian, because of this uniquely woven bond these ladies with hearts of GOLD felt it necessary to start an organization that was devoted to all women no matter what creed, color or race. As a result BETA KAPPA SIGMA, Black & Latina Sorority, INC., was born with the purpose of strengthening sisterhood among all women, developing unity and bettering the community as a whole.

Black Student Union (B.S.U)

The objective of the Black Student Union is to unite all the Black, Latino, Asian, and Other ethnicity families to spread diversity, maintain, and promote active communication and interaction between all students, faculty, and staff on campus. The Black Student Union is the umbrella of the following clubs including Brothers Making a Difference, Ebony Women for Social Change, Organization of Latino Unity, and Students of Caribbean Ancestry. Each organization is to create, educate, and empower an environment that promotes the mission of the Black Student Union (through the use of a office or center when applicable), to encourage the involvement of African Diaspora in mainstream campus activities and arrangements, to support the incoming students as they integrate into the campus environment, and to keep communications with other BSU members on and off campuses and universities.

Brothers Making a Difference (B.M.A.D)

The mission of Brothers Making a Difference is to establish a healthy education, empowerment, prosperity, and freedom in a climate of mis-education, mistreatment, savage inequalities, social/psychological slavery, and unequal circumstance for men of the African Diaspora and to be able to follow the true doctrine of human equality by climbing as high as he is able to climb and willing to go.

Chi Upsilon Sigma Latin Sorority, Inc.

Chi Upsilon Sigma National Latin Sorority, Inc. ® has been in existence since April 29, 1980. Established on the New Brunswick Campus of Rutgers – the State University of New Jersey, CUS was officially voted into the Greek council on March 11, 1981. Our founders are 7 Latinas who had the desire to create an organization to promote leadership amongst all communities at Rutgers University. We commit ourselves to Educating, Elevating, and Empowering all Women: 1. To develop an educational, cultural, political, and social awareness; 2. To open lines of communications in order to service the community; 3. To promote and preserve the Latino culture; 4. To provide women with a choice among Greek letter sororities. We value Sisterhood, Leadership, Service, and Character.

Culture Club

The Culture Club embraces all cultures. The Culture Club is devoted to enhance and share cultures other than our own.

Diversity Action Committee Student Club

DAC is an organization on campus dedicated to promoting diversity and encouraging understanding between people on campus. Diversity is in every part of life, whether it’s race, sex, gender, class, age, or whatever part of your identity that makes you different. Everyone is different and diverse, and that’s what we at DAC love so much!

Ebony Women for Social Change

Ebony Women for Social Change strives to make social change happen, while providing a fun and friendly environment for members. The organization’s purpose is to promote social change inside and outside Ramapo College while supporting members as they work to better themselves socially, academically and spiritually. Weekly meetings are held to discuss business and plan multiple events that promote African ancestry and provide opportunities to socialize. In addition, the members of Ebony Women for Social Change will strive to enpower all women to stand up for their rights and speak up.

Filipino American Student Association

The Filipino American Student Association (FASA) is an organization focused on spreading awareness of the Filipino culture and heritage among the students of Ramapo College. FASA is also affiliated with the Filipino Intercollegiate Networking Dialogue (FIND), a network dedicated to promoting unity among many colleges and universities across the East Coast. We meet once a week where we make announcements about upcoming events, and also discuss Filipino history and other social issues impacting our community in hopes to bridge the gap across different generations and backgrounds. We also encourage members to act as cultural agents and further spread their knowledge and open dialogue amongst their peers.

French Club

French Club is about learning, exploring and sharing the French culture and language.

Gender Equality at Ramapo (G.E.A.R.)

G.E.A.R. (Gender Equality through Activism and Revolution) seeks to raise awareness about and help fight misogyny and other forms of gender discrimination in society and on campus. Anyone is welcome! We encourage an open mind and a diversity of opinions. In addition to gender inequality, we seek to fight racism, classism, transphobia, sexuality discrimination and all other forms of inequality which intersect with misogyny and gender discrimination.

International Student Organization

The International Student Organization (ISO) is a social organization that bridges the divide between international and native students. This organization is based on different cultures and perspectives that allow individuals to enhance their knowledge on cultures around the world. ISO prides itself on diversity, mutual respect and tolerance of race, culture, religion, and sexual orientation. Our main goal is to unify cultural diversity among the Ramapo community.

Italian Club

The Italian Club at Ramapo College strives to inform our community about the true Italian culture through many fun lectures and events. There is no need for language proficiency to participate in the club, but if interested, we hold conversation hour sessions where anyone, students and faculty, can come and learn Italian if interested.

Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc.

Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority Inc. was established at Ramapo College of New Jersey on April 26, 1992. On this date 4 diverse ladies founded Mu Chapter at Ramapo College of New Jersey because they saw in Lambda Theta Alpha the true sisterhood they were looking for, the strong support for academic excellence, a base for community service, and a way of uniting the races. Mu Chapter continues to maintain that legacy by attracting ladies who are leaders on campus and in their communities.

Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity, Inc.

The chapter of Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity Inc. at Ramapo College is Beta Phi, The Lost Woods. We were established here on May 11th, 2002. We currently have 4 active undergraduate brothers. Even though we are a small chapter, that doesn’t stop us from being known, getting heard, and achieving success here at Ramapo. If you haven’t heard about us yet, you definitely will soon. Our colors are brown and white, so be on the look-out!

Mu Sigma Upsilon Sorority, Inc.

Mu Sigma Upsilon Sorority Incorporated was founded on November 21, 1981. We are a multicultural organization. Our three goals are Academic Excellence, Unity Among All Women, and to be Active in the University and Community. Our colors are Baby Blue and White. Our chapter here at Ramapo College is called the Emeritus Chapter which was founded on November 14, 1999.

Omega Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.

Omega Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated was founded on March 15, 1989 at the State University of New York at Albany by seventeen women from various racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds. Synthesized by their passion, commitment and motivation, these women envisioned an organization that would unify all women of color who were dedicated to correcting the injustices that have and continue to affect our communities. At Ramapo College, Omega Phi Beta was established in Fall 2010. Since then, our Collective has continued to expand.

Organization for African Unity

The three fold purpose of O.A.U shall be: 1. To instill in it’s members an awareness and sense of pride in the history and culture of the African Diaspora. 2. To develop in its members the ability and disposition to constructively participate in the Ramapo College community through academic, social, and cultural enrichment, as well as provide support for it’s members in each of these areas. 3. To strive for the advancement of all members of the African Diaspora.

Organization for Latino Unity

OLU was created to unite students of diverse Latino heritages. This organization allows Latinos to come together and celebrate their similarities. Along with learning about the backgrounds of Latinos, the members of the organization plan various exciting and educational activities. OLU also serves as the political voice for Latino student issues and as a support system for students by creating an environment where they can work together to bring the Latino experience to Ramapo. Members seek to provide everyone on campus with an opportunity to learn about the Latino culture.

Ramapo Pride

Ramapo Pride provides a safe environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer, and questioning (LGBTIQQ) students and their straight allies. Our organization is built around providing activist and educational programming, but also providing a social network for LGBTIQQ students on campus. It holds weekly meetings and organizes social, educational and activist programs for the campus at large.

South Asians at Ramapo

South Asians at Ramapo (SAR) strives to bring attention to South Asian culture on campus, as well as promote diversity. Anyone who is South Asian or is interested in experiencing South Asian culture is welcome to be a part of the club!

Spanish Club

The Spanish Club is a community of learners who work together to improve fluency in speaking Spanish. Members are given opportunities to learn about or experience aspects of Spanish/Hispanic and Latino culture. They also discover the dynamics of Spanish/Hispanic and Latino culture in the US.

Students of Caribbean Ancestry

S.O.C.A’s purpose is to promote a better understanding of Caribbean people, culture, history, and politics to the entire student body via weekly meetings and program. We seek to include ALL people of Caribbean Ancestry. This helps us to develop a firm foundation for caring out our goals. We also hope to serve as a factual vehicle erasing current mythical conceptions about the region. Moreover, we wish to unify all people of Caribbean Ancestry by sharing and appreciating each others cultural differences and similarities. One does not only need be part of the Caribbean community to partake in SOCA, all are welcome.

Theta Nu Xi Multicultural Sorority, Inc.

Theta Nu Xi Multicultural Sorority, Incorporated was the first multicultural sorority in the southeast United States. It was founded in 1997 at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. We are one of the fastest growing multicultural organizations in the country. The Alpha Theta Chapter was founded at Ramapo College of New Jersey on April 3, 2009.

United Asian Association

The United Asian Association (UAA) is a social, cultural, political and educational club that serves as a common ground for students of Asian descent, as well as other students interested in learning about and getting involved in the Asian culture, heritage, customs and events. For its members, UAA strives to create and promote a supportive context and comfortable environment as a foreground and provides opportunities for interaction with students, faculty, and the general Ramapo College community from a variety of diverse backgrounds.

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. was founded January 16th, 1920 on the campus of Howard University in Washington D.C. We were founded on the principles of SCHOLARSHIP, SERVICE, SISTERHOOD, and FINER WOMANHOOD. We are also an organization of many firsts. We are the first sorority to charter a chapter in Africa, form youth auxiliary groups, as well as being the FIRST and ONLY sorority constitutionally bound to a Fraternity (Phi Beta Sigma). We take pride in our continued participation in transforming communities in which we’ve given untotaled hours of volunteer service to educate the public, assist the youth, provide scholarships, support organized charities, and promote legislation.
