Requirements for the ABSN 16-Month Track
The 16-month program is designed to be completed in four full-time in-person consecutive semesters starting in the summer semester. By the end of the accelerated program, students will be prepared to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) to obtain licensure.
To be considered for admission to Ramapo’s ABSN 16-month nursing program:
- Applicants must hold a non-nursing bachelor’s degree OR have a minimum of 60 credits from a regionally accredited institution. Current and former Ramapo College students who have not completed a non-Nursing Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree at either Ramapo College or elsewhere are not eligible for the Accelerated BSN Program at this time.
- Applicants must have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA in all undergraduate coursework.
- Applicants must score proficient on the ATI TEAS exam.
- Applicants must have completed the following prerequisite coursework with a first time grade of C+ or higher. We do not accept any repeated science courses. All prerequisite science courses must have been completed within the last 5 years. Only in-person lectures and in person labs are accepted.
- Anatomy and Physiology I with lecture and lab
- Anatomy and Physiology II with lecture and lab
- Microbiology with lecture and lab
- General Chemistry I and II (both with lecture and lab), or Organic Chemistry (with lecture and lab), or Principles of Chemistry (with lecture and lab)
- Statistics
- Introduction to Psychology or Developmental Psychology
The application for Summer / Fall 2026 start is closed. The application for Summer / Fall 2027 will be available in Fall 2026.
Requirements for the “Bridge to ABSN” 24-Month Track
This program is for prospective students who meet the admissions requirements, but have not completed all of the prerequisite courses. Prerequisites must be completed between Summer/Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 for eligibility to start the 16-month ABSN program in Summer 2027. All academic polices and Nursing Student Handbook policies apply during prerequisite completion.
To be considered for admission to Ramapo’s “Bridge to ABSN” 24-month nursing program:
- Applicants must hold a non-nursing bachelor’s degree OR have a minimum of 60 credits from a regionally accredited institution. Current and former Ramapo College students who have not completed a non-Nursing Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree at either Ramapo College or elsewhere are not eligible for the Accelerated BSN Program at this time.
- Applicants must have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA in all undergraduate coursework.
Applicants in this program must complete the following prerequisite courses, with a first time grade of a C+ or higher at Ramapo College, before entering the accelerated program the following summer:

- Anatomy and Physiology II with lecture and lab
- Microbiology with lecture and lab
- Principles of Chemistry with lecture and lab or Organic Chemistry I with lecture and lab OR General Chemistry I with lecture and lab and General Chemistry II with lecture and lab

- Introduction to Psychology or Developmental Psychology
The application for Fall 2026 start is available on December 1st, 2025.
The application deadline is February 1st, 2026.
