Unvaccinated or Vaccinated No Booster and close contact with COVID-19, live with the person but can avoid further close contact, you may end self-quarantine after:
A close contact is defined as anyone you spent a cumulative 15 minutes or more with over a 24-hour period within 6 feet of physical distance.
A close contact goes back 2 days prior to your symptom onset, or 2 days prior to positive test if asymptomatic, through your five day isolation period.
Per the local health department, the correct and consistent use of a proper face covering indoors may mean a person is not a close contact.
The local health department advised that the classrooms/labs may be exempt from determining a close contact as the environment is structured and students and staff are masked. A structured environment is defined as a space that is monitored by a Ramapo College employee or professional volunteer. Student-only settings are not considered structured. This criteria may be applied to settings outside of the classroom that meet the same structured properties as a classroom (such as an office or meeting room).
