If you have COVID-19 with symptoms, you may end self-isolation after:

  • Isolate for 5 full days (Day 0 is the first day of symptoms);
  • If symptoms resolve (fever free for 24 hours and other symptoms improve), isolation can end after 5 full days (i.e., on Day 6);
  • If symptoms persist (fever or if other symptoms have not improved), continue to isolate until fever free for 24 hours and other symptoms have improved;
  • Loss of taste or smell may persist for weeks or months and need not delay the end of isolation;
  • After your isolation has ended, wear a well-fitted mask when around others in public through Day 10, avoid travel until a full 10 days after symptoms or the date of your test, avoid high risk activities such as being with those who are immunocompromised, going to nursing homes, and avoid eating around others until a full 10 days.  If unable to wear a mask around others, the isolation is 10 days.
  • While you are required by the College to wear a face covering (days 6 through 10), you are not permitted to be in any public areas of the College where food and/or drink is being served, including but not limited to Dining Areas, meetings, programs, or any college-sponsored program with food and/or drink.  Please plan to utilize grab and go.  Do not eat or drink in public on campus, including the classroom setting.
  • You have been cleared by Health Services (students) or People Operations and Employee Resources (faculty/staff).
