Arcadia – Bond University – Gold Coast, Australia (spring 2014)

G’day, mate! My name is D’ahna Bishop and I am currently a senior marketing major at Ramapo College of NJ. This past spring I spent the semester studying abroad at Bond University on the beautiful Gold Coast of Australia. Bond University is the perfect fit for anyone who loves the beach, the outdoors, and craves adventure. The school was also rated the number one school to study abroad at by the popular website, Buzzfeed. This experience sparked the travel bug inside of me. When I wasn’t busy doing school work, I was playing with kangaroos, koalas, going to the beach, and doing a lot of traveling. Not only did I get to see countless breathtaking sites in Australia, I also got the opportunity to travel to Bali, Indonesia. Studying abroad was single-handedly the most enriching experience of my life thus far. I truly did not understand what it was like to take a step out of my comfort zone until I traveled 10,000+ miles outside of it. I would like to inspire other students to go abroad, because I feel that only a small percentage of Ramapo’s student population takes this life changing opportunity, and I would like to encourage more to do so. Other Ramapo students could greatly benefit from studying abroad by being forced to expand their horizons and step out of their comfort zone. I strongly encourage all Ramapo students to take the opportunity to study abroad and expand their horizons.
