Gensch, Alfred M. Scholarship Endowment

Margaret V. Mullen created the Alfred M. Gensch Scholarship Endowment in honor of her husband Alfred M. Gensch’s 80th birthday.

Mr. Gensch began his career in finance at a young age, and spent over 50 years in corporate professional positions, including mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, and ultimately Chief Finance Officer for New Jersey with the Federal Small Business Administration.  Both Margaret and Al worked full time while pursuing their undergraduate degrees.  Mr. Gensch graduated from Fordham University with a degree in Finance and Economics, and later in his career completed the Program for Management Development at Harvard University. Mr. Gensch was a self-motivated night school student and was dedicated to mentoring others in Finance.

    Candidacy for the Alfred M. Gensch Scholarship will be based on the following criteria:
  • Students majoring in Finance
  • Junior or Senior
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Financial need considered

2017 Recipient

Elaina Rizzuto

Elaina Rizzuto from Elmwood Park, NJ is a Business Administration Major with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Information Technology Management. She has a 3.9 GPA and is part of Beta Gamma Sigma, a business honor society, and the Order of Omega, a Greek letter leadership honor society. She was treasurer of her sorority, Sigma Sigma Sigma for two terms.

She held a summer internship at Tiffany and Company as an IT Planning Intern and is currently a research intern at Berkeley Research Group. Elaina hopes to pursue a career in finance.

Of her scholarships she says, “The financial help I receive from Ramapo allows me to attend, and without it, I would struggle greatly. Thank you to the donors for allowing me to pursue an education without the financial burden most students face.”
