What is the CAP?

The Comprehensive Academic Plan is Ramapo’s roadmap to improve academics, leadership, and the student experience.

Is there a graphic that shows the new 4-school academic structure of Ramapo College?
Where can I find a list of programs from the Humanities and Global Studies School that are moving to new schools?
Will the courses I’ve already completed or I’m taking this semester still count for my degree?

Yes, all previously taken courses will still count toward the total 128 credits required to graduate.

Courses taken to complete the SSHS School Core, HGS School Core, and CA School Core may also count for the General Education category or as free electives.

Courses taken to complete the ASB School Core will still count toward the ASB required courses.

Review your Degree Audit to see how your courses are being applied to your requirements for graduation.

If I don’t have to take courses to fulfill the School Core any more, what courses should I take?

Review your Degree Audit, Course Catalog, and sample graduation plans to help you update your plan. Free space may mean you have the opportunity for more electives, a minor, or study abroad.

Which Degree Audit tool should I use?

As of March 2026, all continuing students will use DegreeWorks as their degree audit tool. Review the steps to learn how to run a degree audit.

Students graduating in May 2026 or August 2026 will use U.Achieve.

If you have questions about your degree audit, email degreeaudit@ramapo.edu

Where can I go for help?

Come to a Q&A with a Dean to learn more about these changes and how they impact you.

Do I have to retake a School Core course if I failed it?

No, the School Core requirements are no longer part of your graduation requirement. However, if you want to retake the class to raise your GPA, you still have the opportunity to do so and submit a grade replacement request. Students have four times total in their undergraduate academic career when they can request a grade replacement.

Will I have to do more Career Pathways modules for my new school?

Career Pathways modules completed for your current school will be applied to your degree requirements. All students are still required to complete three Career Pathways modules to graduate.

If I am graduating this Spring or Summer, do I need to complete the School Core requirements to graduate?

Yes, students planning to graduate in the Spring or Summer 2026 must complete the requirements outlined on their Degree Audit including School Cores. Changes for current students take effect Fall 2026. If you have been advised differently, follow up with your advisor for clarification.
