The Center for Student Success strongly encourages parents and family members to join their students during their new student experience events and explore all of the materials that are provided! First-year students can RSVP for up to 2 guests when they register for their in person orientation date.

Orientation for first-year students and their families is a one-day experience on campus.  You can expect to be on campus from 9am to 4pm for the entire in-person orientation experience.  After checking in, students and families have the chance to explore our resource fair before students and guests are be separated for the day.  Students will spend half of the day focused on preparing for the academics at Ramapo College including course registration and will then spend the second half of the day learning about become an active an engaged student in our Ramapo College community.

Family and guests will receive a series of presentations from offices across campus.  Presentation topics include:

• Parents as Partners in Student Success
• Academic Success Strategies
• Parents as Partners in Student Well Being
• Navigating the Financial Landscape
• The Student Experience
• The Residential Experience or The Commuter Experience
• Getting Involved at RCNJ

Presentation materials will be available in Spanish for our Spanish speaking families.

At the end of the day there is additional time to view a residence hall, meet with staff for specific concerns, and visit the bookstore.  The day is filled with a lot of information but it allos both the students and families to become more comfortable on campus and to begin the transition for a successful first year at RCNJ!

Continental breakfast, lunch and light refreshments will be served throughout the day.

Temperatures in rooms will vary, we suggest that guests wear layers so that you can be comfortable while walking outdoors between sessions and when you are seated in air conditioned spaces.

Each issue includes updates on academics, social events, campus policies and college achievements. Homecoming: Fall Family Day

As a part of Homecoming Weekend, Family Day provides parents and family members with an opportunity to reunite with their students for a day filled with fun, food, music and activities. In addition to academic workshops and social events, family members will have a chance to get a sense of the campus and spend time together in the local community. Younger and older siblings are encouraged to attend Family Day and support the Roadrunners they know best. We hope to see you there!
