Instructions / Policies

Thank you for considering Ramapo College for your Summer Housing needs!

The below online form is for persons who will be interning at local companies accessible from Mahwah, NJ to request on-campus housing at Ramapo College of NJ with our Corporate Intern Housing Program.

Residency for this program is strictly limited to the dates indicated on our timeline.

The “Corporate Intern Housing Application” will also be referred to as the “Housing Agreement” and “Housing Request.”

Corporate Interns will also be referred to as “interns,” and “residents.”

Please review these instructions before completing the online form.

Corporate Intern Housing Application Information

We recommend that the intern completes the online housing agreement form to ensure accuracy of information.

Our Corporate Intern Housing Application is located here:

The corporate sponsor is required to complete the Corporate Contact Summary Form for all of their interns who will reside in on-campus housing.

Name of Corporate Intern

Please provide the official full name of the corporate intern who will be residing in on-campus housing.

Contact Information

A valid email address is essential to your application and to your stay at Ramapo. Following your housing application form submission, you will receive a housing reservation confirmation sent to the email address you provide in your housing agreement/application.

The office will communicate with the intern and the corporate contact via email, through corpintern@ramapo.edu. Please add this email address to your list of approved contacts to ensure that you will receive correspondences.

Damage Deposit & Refund Information

A damage deposit check is required of all corporate interns who reside at Ramapo College. Please note that only personal or business checks are accepted for the damage deposit. Refer to the cost info section for the damage deposit amount needed.

If there are no damages assessed, the damage deposit check will be voided and shredded.

If there are damages or missing Ramapo College property, the check will be deposited by Ramapo College and any remaining amount will be sent to the intern’s US mailing address that was provided in their initial application.

Although unlikely, additional related charges may be billed to the intern and their company if applicable.

If the intern is paying for all housing fees, including the damage deposit, it is likely that the intern should receive any applicable refund of the damage deposit. If the company pays for all housing fees, including the damage deposit, it is likely that the company should receive any applicable refund of the damage deposit. This should be discussed between the intern and their company before providing the following information.

Housing Terms

Room rental is based on a flat rate, per night, per intern, to a single bedroom within the suite, regardless of the number of nights stayed.

Suitemates may be other Corporate Interns from the same company (if available) or combined with Corporate Interns from different companies. Housing placements may be assigned as housing applications are received and processed. As a standard, same-sex individuals are assigned to reside together in each housing apartment. Refer to the cost info section of the Website for current pricing.

There can be only one check-in date and one check-out date per individual intern during the entirety of their stay, during the specified Summer Corporate Intern Housing dates. Special late-night check-in or check-out may be arranged for dates that the College is closed during the day.

The nightly rental rate is applied to each night’s stay, including weekdays and weekend nights. For example, there are 30 nights in the month of June; an intern who reserves housing during the entire month of June will be charged for 30 nights at the specified nightly rental rate.

Ramapo College cannot accommodate a staggered payment option for corporate interns to check-in and check-out for one period of time and then check-in and check-out again for another period of time. Among other processing issues, doing so would require such an intern to remove all of their personal belongings and to pay an additional $100 cleaning fee for each time that the housing assignment was vacated.

Local motel rentals providing a bedroom, bathroom, and television may charge more for their nightly room rental fees but they may accommodate the intern’s need to stay in the room for only a few nights per week. However, interns staying at the Ramapo College campus receive a variety of additional benefits and amenities, while living on a comfortable college campus with a Public Safety Office that is open 24/7.

We are unable to provide housing prior to the specified initial check-in date or after the specified final check-out date, due to our need to prepare the residences for the following session for Ramapo College student occupancy. We apologize if this causes any inconvenience to interns and potential interns. However we are unable to make any exceptions to the housing occupancy dates available to corporate interns indicated in the timeline.

Check-in dates and times must be approved by our program, and are reflected on the Housing Confirmation received by each intern.

Please note the following general schedule and locations for check-in times:

  • Monday through Thursday from 12 noon to 5pm, at The College Park Apartments Hall Office, located in the Lodge.
  • Monday through Sunday from 8:00 PM to 12am (with the RA On-Duty), at the College Park Apartments Hall Office.
  • Instructions to contact the RA will be posted to the doors in the College Park Apartments Hall Office.

Interns are required to abide by all Ramapo College rules, procedures, and expectations. Refer to the Guide to Corporate Intern Housing and our FAQ for more information on Ramapo College policies.

Please Note: Although our staff is on duty overnight, Ramapo offices may be closed on Fridays, weekends, and national holidays.

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellation of the Housing Agreement should take place at least two calendar weeks prior to the scheduled date of arrival. Cancellation within two calendar weeks of the specified date of arrival may result in billing for a housing fee equivalent to two weeks rent.

Notice:

Please be aware that during the Summer while there is a limited number of people on campus, Ramapo College of New Jersey takes this time to maintain its facilities. Therefore, some construction, maintenance, and repairs may be conducted in and around the Corporate Intern Housing area at various times of the day throughout the summer. There may be times when interns will hear loud noise emanating from such work. In very rare circumstances, Corporate Interns may be required to relocate housing assignments in order to manage facility maintenance and upkeep. The Office of Residence Life will do all that we can to maintain a reasonable level of comfort for all residents.

Corporate Sponsor Details

Each intern must have a corporate sponsor, whether the company is providing financial support to the intern or not. The corporate sponsor and the intern must provide the same corporate contact person who may be informed of concerns that the College experiences with the intern. The company agrees to be responsible for financial obligations to the College, in the event that the intern fails to fulfill them.

Intern non-payment issues are avoided by requiring monthly rental fees in advance. However, requests for exceptions to advance payment of any fees may be communicated to the corporate contact. Severe issues, such as problematic behavioral concerns, fines for policy violations, property damage, failure to pay any fees, and/or other similar concerns, may also be communicated to the corporate sponsor. The company may be held responsible for the actions of its intern(s) only in the event that the intern fails to respond as agreed upon.

Primary communication with the corporate sponsor will be conducted via email.

Internet Access

Corporate interns may access the internet through the College’s network.

  • Intern check in packets will contain information about accessing their login credentials.

Parking Permit

Interns are given a single parking permit at no cost. A valid parking permit is required for each vehicle that will be parked on-campus at Ramapo College of New Jersey during your Summer stay. There is a $100 fee for each additional parking permit requested.

If you are interested in receiving your free parking permit, you must provide your vehicle information in the below form. Please read our parking regulations as well.
