“Salaam! During the summer of 2016, I studied abroad with ISA, in Meknes, Morocco. During my time in Morocco, I went on a variety of excursions with ISA, where I was able to experience the beautifully diverse landscape, language, and cuisine of Morocco. Through the various excursions to Tangier, the Mediterranean, the Western Sahara, and the Roman Ruins, in Volubilis, I was able to explore what comprises Morocco’s rich history. While in Morocco, I had the opportunity to take Arabic and increase my language skills. Through interaction with Moroccan society, I was also able to gain knowledge of Moroccan Arabic, or Darija , French, and Spanish. My study abroad experience made the theories and concepts learned in the classroom concrete and showed me I was on the right path professionally and personally. I believe everyone should have the chance to experience another culture. I am looking forward to sharing my experience with all of you and how fulfilling the study abroad experience can be.” – Jessica Miller ’17 graduated with a Bachelor of Arts as an International Studies and Liberal Studies double major.
