“College was a challenging, yet rewarding experience. As a transfer student to Ramapo in my freshman year, I received a lot of help in gaining back credits for the literature program, in which diverse classes helped me earn a broad knowledge of the subject. I decided that I wanted to spread my love for literature to others and become a teacher. Both the literature and teacher education department worked together to prepare me for work after graduation. I had the opportunity to study in Venice, Italy, during the summer of 2011 and it was one of the best decisions I ever made.

I learned so much about a new culture and learned a lot about myself, and I gained a great sense of responsibility and independence. Studying abroad is something I believe that all students should look into. It is such an amazing experience!” – Alex Polizzo ‘13 earned a degree in Literature and is certified to teach at the secondary education level.  She is currently an English teacher at West Morris Mendham High School, where she is teaching sophomore and junior honors classes as well as coaching field hockey.
