Human Rights & Genocide Studies (HRGS) Study Abroad

How does studying abroad fit with this minor?

We firmly believe that the best way to understand the reality of human rights struggles and your own capacity to become an agent of change is to step outside the classroom and into the debates and campaigns reshaping the world of human rights. Studying abroad in a program focused on human rights gives you the opportunity to learn from experts in the field and grapple with the complex realities of inequality, oppression, and strategizing for change by interacting with people demanding justice. The struggle for fuller realization of our rights is shared by peoples everywhere. Become part of the global human rights network.

This minor has two required courses and three electives. Most programs pre-approved by the minor fulfill elective requirements, but there are also opportunities to take courses that fulfill the two required courses. Please contact Prof. Rebecca Root for further details.
