A.L.I.C.E. Violent Critical Incident (VCI) Response Training Course

Our vision is to empower all citizens with the skills and knowledge to respond when shots are fired. If the police cannot be there in time to help, the next best thing is to prepare our civilian population to help themselves until public safety arrives.” -A.L.I.C.E.

ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate) training helps prepare individuals to handle the threat of an Active Shooter. ALICE teaches individuals to participate in their own survival, while leading others to safety. Though no one can guarantee success in this type of situation, this new set of skills will greatly increase the odds of survival should anyone face this form of disaster.

Alert – is your first notification of danger.
Lockdown – Barricade the room. Prepare to EVACUATE or COUNTER if needed.
Inform – Communicate the violent intruder’s location and direction in real time.
Counter – Create Noise, Movement, Distance and Distraction with the intent of reducing the shooter’s ability to shoot accurately. Counter is NOT fighting.
Evacuate – When safe to do so, remove yourself from the danger zone.

Violent Critical Incident response training for the campus community helps to ensure safety at universities and colleges across the country. University and college VCI events can happen anywhere on campus. Wide-spread aggressive intruder plan is the optimal solution for providing school security and effective preparedness to an entire campus population.
During the training we will discuss how we can increase survivability by empowering individuals to participate in their own survival. We are going to look at situational and environmental awareness along with the options we can use to respond to an alert. This training will help us prepare for a Violent Critical Incident.
