Welcome to the Resources page for all things related to the Comprehensive Academic plan. This page serves as a central hub for resources and opportunities for engagement related to the CAP, supporting students, faculty, staff, and alumni as this work continues. We encourage you to explore and check back as the plan evolves.
Ramapo’s Comprehensive Academic Plan, guided by the Boldly Ascending Strategic Plan, involves a refinement of our academic structure and curriculum and leadership. It’s all about keeping learning fresh, supporting your goals, and making sure what you study today prepares you for tomorrow. As we put the plan into action, you’ll begin to see some exciting changes.
Effective July 1, 2026, Ramapo will be moving to four schools designed to support all students in their academic journey:
The Comprehensive Academic Plan is Ramapo’s roadmap to improve academics, leadership, and the student experience.

Review your Degree Audit, Course Catalog, and sample graduation plans to help you update your plan. Free space may mean you have the opportunity for more electives, a minor, or study abroad.
The General Education Distribution Categories include:
You must select two of the three categories to fulfill this requirement. Note that with the changes taking effect Fall 2026, the “out of school requirement” is no longer being enforced in the College’s degree audit tools. You are encouraged to take courses from a variety of disciplines.
If you believe there is an error in the way your courses are being applied to meet the General Education distribution requirements, email the Registrar’s office at degreeaudit@ramapo.edu.
Log into U.Achieve and select Audit. Click on the PDF format run by BARS. Email degreeaudit@ramapo.edu if you have any questions.
As of March 2026, all continuing students will use DegreeWorks as their degree audit tool. Review the steps to learn how to run a degree audit.
Students graduating in May 2026 or August 2026 will use U.Achieve.
If you have questions about your degree audit, email degreeaudit@ramapo.edu
As part of the Ramapo’s Comprehensive Academic Plan (CAP), the College is transitioning to a four‑school structure beginning with the 2026–2027 academic year. As a result, portions of historical catalogs—particularly those referencing previous school-based requirements such as School Cores or General Education “Out of School” distributions—may no longer reflect the current academic organization or requirements. Students should consult their Degree Audit and the CAP Student Resources page for more information. Questions can be directed to degreeaudit@ramapo.edu.
Come to a Q&A with a Dean to learn more about these changes and how they impact you.
No, the School Core requirements are no longer part of your graduation requirement. However, if you want to retake the class to raise your GPA, you still have the opportunity to do so and submit a grade replacement request. Students have four times total in their undergraduate academic career when they can request a grade replacement.
Career Pathways modules completed for your current school will be applied to your degree requirements. All students are still required to complete three Career Pathways modules to graduate.
Yes, students planning to graduate in the Spring or Summer 2026 must complete the requirements outlined on their Degree Audit including School Cores. Changes for current students take effect Fall 2026. If you have been advised differently, follow up with your advisor for clarification.
No, your employment status does not change.
Yes, letters are forthcoming.
Yes, if your position is transitioning to a new school, you will be reporting to a different Dean.
Neither your benefits nor your paycheck will change as a result of this transition.
No physical location changes are planned at this time. Should that change in the future, you will be notified by your Dean’s office.
