Past and Present Transformative Student Experiences in Aotearoa

Join a ​​guided conversation between a panel of US students with varying levels of study experience in Aotearoa New Zealand from undergraduate study abroad to PhD. This conversation will cover a range of topics including culture, social identity, and how these experiences have shaped their personal, professional, and academic lives.

Panellists are:

  • Dr Nida Ahmad – PhD at the Te Huataki Waiora (School of Health) – Te Whare Wānanga o Waikato (University of Waikato) in Kirikiriroa (Hamilton) in 2019 (dissertation focused on the digital lives of Muslim sportswomen)
  • Octavius Jones – Fulbright Scholar at Victoria University of Wellington researching digital storytelling with Wahine Māori (Māori women)
  • Brittany K.  Lashley – Study abroad student at Unitech, Auckland and Education Abroad Advisor at the University of Maryland
  • Devin Taylor – Generation Study Abroad scholarship recipient at Texas Lutheran University
