[D-215] Join the Future Teachers to hear Mrs. Basia Grabowski’s talk on how she transitioned from growing up in a Communist country to becoming a teacher in a diverse, urban district with cultures completely different from her own. Nearly 50 percent of all students in Paterson speak a primary language other than English, with a total of 37 languages spoken in district schools. How does someone thrown into this situation adapt and cope with the challenges in this type of district?
