Cultural Ecology, Sustainability and Socioeconomic Dynamics in the Peruvian Amazon

[Friends Hall / SC-219] Professor Eric Wiener will present a slideshow/lecture and discussion about how the culture and livelihoods of people in the Peruvian Amazon have been shifting over the past 30 years, and the implications that the increasing interconnections between forests, rural populations and urban centers have for the sustainability of natural resource use in the region. Professor Wiener, Professor Ashwani Vasishth, Professor Maisha Amen, and Ronald Calderon will also briefly discuss a Ramapo College study abroad course that will take place in the Peruvian Amazon in June, 2019.
