Editorial Intern at L’elite Magazine October 2011- March 2012

As a virtual intern for beauty, health, and wellness magazine L’elite Magazine, I was responsible for writing two to three articles a week, as well as pitching stories. I worked from home, so I was able to work around my packed academic schedule. I did, however, have the opportunity to go to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Lincoln Center in order to cover various shows for the website. From this internship, I now have four published articles to include in my portfolio, as well as the overwhelming experience of being a part of Fashion Week, an experience I will never forget. I have gained time management skills, attention to detail, and the importance of meeting a deadline from this position.

Editorial Intern at Medical Design and Technology May 2012-August 2012

Over the summer I worked two days a week at Advantage Business Media which is a large company in charge of numerous publications. I worked specifically with Medical Design and Technology. Unlike the other internship, for this magazine I was responsible for editing all incoming documents, reaching out to medical professionals for articles, blogs, and news, as well as posting everything on to the magazine’s website. I loved this position and the environment. I learned how to use Adobe Photoshop and InDesign, two skills that greatly enhance my resume, as well as publishing to the web and HTML coding—things I never realized I would enjoy doing until then.
