Ramapo College has been offering educational experiences to Greece  since 2021. Currently, we are offering the following program opportunities:

Academic Program

2 Credits, 8 days

The program is designed to provide students of many disciplines the opportunity to participate in this program. All students will enroll in INTL 130: Global Field Experience, Greece: Ancient & Contemporary Cultures.

Course Description:

During their visit to Greece, participants will go back in time to understand the incredible history of Greece through exploration of the many important sites and ruins. Simultaneously, students will also meet with local peoples to acquire an understanding of the current challenges facing Greece and the many ways in which people at all levels are working to solve these challenges.

Greece 2The program will include the following field excursions, to both complement the academic course, as well as provide insights into the culture and context of Greece, and the region:

  • Acropolis of Athens
  • Dionysus Theater
  • Acropolis Museum
  • Benaki Museum
  • Agora of Athens/Theseion
  • Monastiraki neighboorhood
  • National Archaeological Museum
  • Greek Parliament
  • NGOs working with refugees
  • Epidaurus
  • Olive Oil farm visit
  • Mycenae
  • Nafplio (1st capital of modern Greece)
  • Isthmus Canal
  • Palamidi Fortress
  • Epidaurus Ancient Theater
  • Beach

Accommodations

Students will reside in centrally-located hotels. All breakfasts are included, as well as some additional meals.
