Study & Intern Abroad

Aleksandar Goranov

Arcadia – Summer Internship Program –  Sydney, Australia (summer 2015)

SFS – Applied Marine Research Techniques – Turks and Caicos (summer 2015)

Здравей! (Zdravey!) My name is Alex Goranov and I am an international student from Bulgaria. I am a chemistry major, with minors in Environmental Science and Earth Science. My biggest hobby is exploring the world. So far, I have been to 40 countries, lived in 7 countries, and out of all my experiences, I enjoyed studying abroad the most.

During summer 2015, I studied abroad in Australia, and in the Turks and Caicos Islands. In Sydney, I was a research assistant at Macquarie University`s Marine Ecology Group. I won the 2015 Arcadia University and Garmelle Le Vin Memorial Research Award for my work there. In Turks and Caicos, I studied Applied Marine Research Techniques in the classroom but most importantly outside of the classroom through fieldwork and scientific SCUBA diving.

I decided to become a Global Roadrunner to spread the word about all the awesome opportunities Ramapo has for study abroad, as well as to help students through the entire process. I have a lot of experiences and am a great person to talk to about anything international.
