Ralph Mastrangelo Memorial Scholarship

Ralph Mastrangelo Memorial Scholarship

Ralph Mastrangelo joined the Ramapo College Foundation Board of Governors in 2004, and during his time served as Chair, Governor-at-Large, and as a highly active member of the Investment, Audit, and Executive Committees. Motivated by their deep passion for Ramapo’s mission, Ralph and his spouse Liz helped to achieve the College’s vision for a new Library and Learning Commons, volunteering their time as Co-chairs of the Learning Commons Campaign. The Center for Reading and Writing occupies the space that the Mastrangelo’s named and made possible within the Learning Commons.

As a proponent of the liberal arts, advancing access to a Ramapo education was also a focus for Ralph and Liz. In 2016, they created an endowed scholarship, the Roseann DeMicco Memorial Scholarship, to honor Ralph’s sister’s legacy as an educator.

Upon Ralph’s death on September I0, 2024, the Ramapo College Board of Governors, spearheaded by Immediate Past Chair Roy Putrino, worked collectively to create this endowed scholarship to honor Ralph’s memory and legacy as a driver of so many of Ramapo’s philanthropic initiatives.
