This event will honor the lives and contributions of members of the Ramapo community who passed away between July 2020 and June 2021.
Remembrance Day is an annual event established by the Ramapo College of New Jersey Board of Trustees in 2005 to “memorialize the death of members of the campus community and outside individuals who have significantly contributed to the institution and to the campus community.” The event provides an opportunity to pause, remember and celebrate the contributions and lives of those whose memories continue to make Ramapo College a special community. Family members, friends, and members of the community are invited to attend this ceremony which includes a memorial plaque at a planting site.
The Board of Trustees approved changes to the College’s Policy/Procedure 476: Memorial. As a result, Remembrance Day will now honor those who passed away in the preceding fiscal year, July 1 – June 30. Formerly, this event honored those who passed away in the previous calendar year.
