Major/Minor: Biology Pre-med

Favorite Class: Currently, this semester, psychology is my favorite class. My courses are more science and math based, so is the first psych class I’ve taken in college; much different than an AP course I took in high school. It’s very engaging and interesting opening my eyes to different interests.

Favorite Place on Campus: One of my favorite places is the bench in the spiritual center overviewing the pond because it is a calming area where you can destress and relax. In terms of being productive and getting work done, a booth in pay cafe, or a seat near the windows in the library with comfy chairs is my go-to.

Future Plans: This summer, I plan on starting a new internship at a local hospital near my hometown. I have the opportunity to shadow a doctor and be involved with patient care. After college, I plan on attending a grad school, to further my career in the medical field. My ultimate goal is to help and better other individuals in any way I can which is why I chose to be involved with medicine.

Favorite Inspirational Quote: “Success is not final; failure is not fatal; it is the courage to continue that counts” -Winston S. Churchill

Advice for First-Year Students: It is important to remember that every person has their own experiences, struggles, and failures. Not everyone is perfect. You will experience academic/personal challenges that will test your perseverance and self-reflection. The A’s you were getting throughout high school, may be more difficult to achieve on a college level. Staying motivated, getting help when needed, and creating connections with new people are all essential in your college experience. I also recommend keeping an open mind in terms of engaging in new interests and hobbies. Take any opportunity you have to learn about a club or organization that interests you, as it may take time for you to find what you like.
