FYS Class:

Class of: 2025

Major/Minor: Elementary Education/Special Education (4+1 Program)

Resident/Commuter: Resident

Favorite Class: My favorite class I have taken at Ramapo so far has been all of my EDUC (education) classes because they are so informative and fun!! It is so fun being with other teacher education majors and learning about what it means to be an effective teacher. I also like it because it gives me an opportunity to learn and enhance the skills I need to be a teacher!

Favorite Place on Campus: I really like being in the library for studying and catching up with my friends. Though I also like hanging out in the dorms in my room with my friends/roommates!

Clubs/organizations: I am in the Future Teachers at Ramapo club which I love being a part of. Though, I am also in Ramapo LEAD which has been equally as fun and rewarding!

Future Plans: Currently, I am not planning on studying abroad even though it seems really cool! Though, I do plan on doing more internships/student teaching in the coming years! And I am really looking forward to that because it will be fun to get real classroom experiences. As of right now I also will be continuing as President of Future Teachers at Ramapo, and I hope to put on some more successful events!

Favorite Inspirational Quote: I really like the quote “It is often the small steps, not the giant leaps, that bring about the most lasting change” – HRM Queen Elizabeth II I like this quote because even the small steps count and can make a huge impact on your life.

Advice for First-Year Students: The biggest piece of advice I would give to first-year students would be to enjoy every moment. Your first year at college truly goes by so fast, so be sure to have fun and live in the moment. Of course, it is important to get good grades and do your best, but do not forget to have time for yourself and with your friends and family. Similarly, I would say that it’s good to every once in a while to step outside of your comfort zone and participate in events because you could end up really enjoying something that you previously would not have done.
