Championing the Cause of Liberal Arts Education, Coplac to Hold Global Education Conference at Ramapo College

(Mahwah) – Ramapo College of New Jersey will host the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges (COPLAC) annual conference, scheduled June 20 – 23. Global Education and Civic Engagement is the theme of this year’s conference. Conference attendees will participate in topic discussions including General Education as a Site for Global Education and Civic Preparation,” Study Abroad and International Travel Courses,” Service Learning and Experiments with Experiential Transcripts,” The Use of Campus Diversity Initiatives to Advance Global Education and Civic Engagement,” and AASCU’s American Democracy Project.”

Recognizing the importance of liberal arts and sciences education for success in a complex global society, COPLAC is championing the cause of liberal arts education of superior quality in the public sector. COPLAC institutions provide students of high ability and from all backgrounds access to an outstanding liberal arts education.

The conference will begin with a reception Friday evening; Saturday and Sunday will include presentations and panel discussions. A business meeting on Monday morning will conclude the conference.
