Insurance Agency President Remberto J. Perez Appointed to Ramapo College’s Board of Trustees

(Mahwah) – Remberto J. Perez, president of ROYALE INSURANCE AGENCY and FIRSTAMERICANO INSURANCE AGENCY, has been appointed to the Board of Trustees of Ramapo College effective February 25, 2004.

Mr. Perez brings more than 25 years of business experience to his appointment. He established ROYALE INSURANCE AGENCY in 1978 and continues to own and operate the company with his wife. The agency maintains an office in Guttenberg and another in Englewood. A third is scheduled to open in Jersey City in mid-March. The company is one of a few minority-owned insurance agencies in the state.

The insurance professional is also the president of FIRSTAMERICANO INSURANCE AGENCY. This company is affiliated with First Bank Americano, on whose board Perez sits. It is one of the few minority owned and operated banks in the state.

The appointee is particularly interested in serving as a liaison between Ramapo College and community groups. My strength is in urban and minority issues,” Perez says. He credits his background in sales and his communication and leadership skills with bringing about consensus and fostering relationships in the community.

Perez is also vice president of the Cuban American National Foundation, a state board member of the Independent Insurance Agents of New Jersey, a founding member of the Latin American Kiwanis Club, a past chairman of the Urban Opportunity and Minority Agents Committee, a member of the Hudson County Commission of Human Relations and was appointed to serve in the Free Arbitration Committee by the New Jersey State Supreme Court. He has also discussed community and societal issues in major national media outlets and on Spanish-language stations.

Married and the father of four, Perez lives in Tenafly, NJ.
