Ramapo College has been recognized as a Gold 2026-2027 Military Friendly® and Military Spouse Friendly School.
March 27, 2026
Ramapo College of New Jersey has earned the 2026-2027 Military Friendly® Schools Designation recognized as a Gold Level School as well as a Military Spouse Friendly School.

Ramapo College offers a committed veteran student success team to assist students from the time interest is expressed in applying through graduation. Priority registration, a dedicated lounge, and an active Veteran Student Organization are part of the robust support services and resources available to veteran and ROTC students. This year, the College welcomed Cesar Fuentes as the coordinator of military and veteran enrollment and success, who partners with New Jersey National Guard and Pirate Battalion ROTC at Seton Hall University on behalf of students.
Throughout each academic year, Ramapo College also welcomes active and retired military guests for campus talks and visits. Most recently, the 44th Surgeon General of the U.S. Army, retired Lieutenant General Nadja West came to campus to share her thoughts on topics such as leadership, service, mentorship and healthcare as part of the Presidential Speaker Series in October 2025.
“Earning the Military Friendly® designation is more than a badge of honor; it is a reflection of an institution’s deep-rooted values and strategic commitment to those who served. These schools don’t just open doors for veterans and military spouses, they build sustainable pathways for academic success and long-term impact. Their support is transformative, proving that investing in military connected students is both a moral imperative and a standard for educational excellence.” — Kayla Lopez, Vice President of Memberships, Military Friendly®

Lieutenant General (ret.) Mary A. Legere, managing director for Accenture Global Defense, was the guest speaker at the Presidential Speakers Series on October 22, 2024, where she delivered her talk “The Implications of Artificial Intelligence on Leadership and Democracy” to students, staff, and faculty. Pictured, she also participated in an intimate roundtable discussion with student leaders from the Student Government Association, Data Science Club, Computer Science Club, Google Developers Clubs, Women in Business, ROTC, Ramapo Management Consulting Group, and Engineering Physics Club.
Institutions earning the Military Friendly Schools® designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. Over 3,200 companies participated in the Military Friendly® survey. Methodology, criteria, and weightings were determined by consultation with the Military Friendly®, in Military Friendly® Advisory Council, a group of independent leaders in the military community. Final ratings were determined by combining an organization’s survey score, public data, and an assessment of the institution’s ability to meet and exceed thresholds for student recruitment, retention, academic progress, graduation rates, career placement, and support services for veterans, transitioning service members, and military spouses.
