Introduction to Mindfulness and Meditation Workshop

Mindfulness is a purposeful way of focusing attention to the present moment and promotes a presence in the here and now that is often lost in today’s fast paced society. Research indicates that a mindfulness practice, including meditation, decreases anxiety and stress while enhancing the ability to concentrate and pay attention. The physical and psychological benefits of meditation and mindfulness practices have been well documented.

Learn to meditate at this free introductory session. The program will briefly review the meaning and benefits of mindfulness practices, and then present an experiential introduction to breath-based meditation practice. Suggestions will be offered on how to integrate a simple, but effective, mindfulness practice into one’s everyday life. We ask participants to please wear comfortable clothing to the event. Cost is $15.
