To provide the highest quality of service, the Grants and Sponsored Programs Office requests that you use the grant initiation form to provide information on the grant you would like to submit. This information will be used to verify the College’s eligibility to apply for this grant and to ensure there are no conflicts of interest or competing funding requests. For external funding, please submit a completed grant initiation form and a brief description of the proposed project to firstname.lastname@example.org at least one month prior to initiating efforts to obtain funding.
Once you are approved to pursue the funding opportunity, this Office, along with Grants Accounting, will work with you to finalize your proposal. Along with your completed proposal documents, please complete the grant submission approval form and submit it to the Office of Grants and Sponsored Programs (email@example.com). A budget template form is available for your use, although most funding agencies have a specific budget format of their own. It is the responsibility of the PI/PD to obtain signatures of any collaborators, Dean or Supervisor, and the Grants Accounting Office. For final administrative approval from the Provost, all documents are to be submitted to the Office of Grants and Sponsored Programs at least 7 working days before the agency deadline. Proposals to external funding agencies will not be submitted without appropriate institutional approvals.
The staff in Grants and Sponsored Programs are here to help with all stages of the grants life cycle, including grant writing, budget development, and proposal submission. There are several online resources that you might also find helpful, including:
The Grants and Sponsored Programs Office will submit your proposal and associated documents. We will also ensure that it has been received by the funder, although you (as principal investigator) will likely receive a confirmation email, as well. All submission documents, along with award notifications, project reports, budget justification approvals, will be curated by this Office.
